For a long time now I have had a fascination with steam powered vehicles. Chris and I discovered this tractor while driving just south of Avilla, Indiana. It was in an abandoned lot along with a myriad of old farm equipment, and even an old Southern caboose! I love all the knobs and bolts on the back of the tractor, its hard to imagine something needing so many bits and pieces to operate.

I photographed this abandoned motel on july 19th. It has a distinct “Bates Motel” feel to it, complete with a big, creepy house and lots of dilapidated rooms.

I photographed this old pipe while on a walk with my boyfriend. The thing that made me notice it, were all the lines and blocky shapes behind it. I love the contrast between the harsh, linear lines of the bricks and glass blocks versus the soft, rounded, almost melted form of the pipe. The pipe also reminds me a bit of a periscope for some reason. Maybe there is a big yellow submarine hiding under the streets of Fort Wayne?

I took this photo of my boyfriend, Chris, just as he was taking a picture of a geological survey marker. The marker had been in that same spot on the wall since about the 1930’s. I must have walked past that section of wall a million times on my way to my favorite park, and I never saw it till that day. Our shadows remind me of tourists grouped around some historical landmark, cameras and all!

I photographed this tree in a park near my house. I have always been fascinated by how much it looks like a trident.
